Facts on Goats and Goat Dairy
There are several reasons why we have a passion for goats and goat milk products. Goats are very affectionate, loving animals. They can in fact be trained like dogs and can also be very humorous at times. Have you heard some of the sounds goats can make or seen any fainting goats? There are some really funny goat videos on the internet and if you want a good laugh check them out. Goats bond to humans much more than cows do. Due to their smaller size they are easier to handle, especially for women. A lot of women make excellent goat dairy herdsladies.
Goats eat differently than cows do. To say that “they eat anything” is wrong. They like to nibble at pretty much anything because they are curious, but when it comes to eating they are quite fussy. Cows reach out with their tongue and grab whatever they can get, shoving the tongue full of forage into their mouth. Goats eat selectively. They reach out with their lips, carefully choosing the very best.
We all have heard of someone who can't tolerate cow milk, but is doing fine on goat milk. Let's shed a bit of light onto that fact. There is a type of bovine protein found just in cow milk. That particular protein causes a lot of people allergic reactions, such us upset stomach, gas, diarrhea, vomiting, rashes, excessive saliva production, rough throat and more. A lot of these people refer to the common term of “lactose intolerance”. And yes, this might be true, but goat milk has just as much lactose as cows milk. So, if you can handle goat milk, but not cow milk, most likely you react to the protein, not to the lactose. If you are truly lactose intolerant, you can't handle cow, sheep or goat milk.
We also like the goat industry because it is still a small one. Nowadays more and more people want to know where their food comes from. Everyone is welcome to visit any of our farms or processing facilities. We have very personal contact with each of our producers, and we can guarantee all of our products are free of antibiotics and growth hormones.
All our goats are kept clean in large open barns, our milk is cooled immediately and carefully processed following strict standards. Goat milk is pure white in colour, whereas cows milk has a yellowish tinge. The colour difference is due to carotene, goats convert carotene into vitamin A, and cows do not.

Goats milk naturally has a beneficial nutrient profile, filled with extra minerals, we do not fortify our milk with any extra vitamins. We do homogenize our milk at a very low level, to avoid flaking in tea or coffee.
We are passionate about goats and all the delicious products made from it.
